Transforming athletes into leaders – on and off the court.
With over 15 years of experience in basketball training and athletic development, I’ve dedicated my career to helping young athletes realize their full potential—not just as players, but as people. As the founder of Prove Them Wrong (PTW), I lead an elite basketball and mentorship program focused on skill development, strength and conditioning, mental performance, and personal growth.
PTW is more than training—it’s a movement. We use the game as a vehicle to teach life skills like discipline, consistency, accountability, and resilience. Through private lessons, group programs, school partnerships, and community outreach, our goal is to develop elite athletes and even better humans.
Our values are simple but powerful: Commitment, Integrity, Grit.
Whether an athlete’s goal is middle school, varsity, college, or beyond—PTW provides the tools, mentorship, and mindset to get them there.
Let’s keep building something bigger than basketball.

Trainer’s Coaching Style: Detailed, Lesson-driven, growth-mindset
Coach Ethan is a 22 year old trainer coming out of North Providence, Rhode Island (RI) where he has lived the majority of his life. Basketball was not always in the cards for him as he would never describe himself as a natural talent. Ethan is the epitome of Proving Them Wrong displaying how hard work and hustle can take you to places that others could never imagine. This hard work and dedication carried him all the way to a State Championship his freshman year at Bishop Hendricken High School in Warwick, RI – an all boys school with a highly esteemed basketball program. Post high school, he continued his education career at Emmanuel College in the heart of the city of Boston, the city where he was eventually introduced to DeShawn. He has always been fascinated by the game of basketball as he is consistently reading and watching material that will take his knowledge and ability to the next level as well as surrounding himself with like minded people. Ethan has experience playing, reffing and teaching the game at summer camps back at his old high school and is looking to continue his playing career on the professional level in the not so distant future. During a workout with Coach Ethan you will find yourself focusing on your weaknesses twice as much as your strengths as he feels as though becoming a well rounded player is the key to success in the game of basketball. One quote that he will often emphasize to his athletes is “repetition is the father of learning”. Ethan is excited to continue working at PTW and taking his athletes to the next level. Keep Proving them Wrong!

My name is Emma Garapetian. I played my first year of college basketball at Wheaton College, MA. I will be playing my second year at SUNY Jamestown. Basketball has always been a huge part of my life in learning to grow as a player but also as an individual. There is always so much to learn in the basketball world and as much as I love to play basketball, I love to teach it!
My basketball journey started out like, maybe most players. Watching your favorite player or team compete and entertain at the highest level, then turn around and emulate what I’d seen on TV. I was hooked! It was basketball, basketball, basketball! Outside, in the house, at night, in the rain, on vacation I was playing. It was, is and will always be my first love. Although my love and talents never took me to the heights I dreamed of, the passion never left! It went from playing to coaching my nephew’s travel and AAU games, to now coaching and training at the middle school and high school levels. I’ve been fortunate to coach, mentor, and teach both boys and girls and now my passion has taken me to being a strong advocate for girls/women’s basketball. I feel it’s growing and starting to become more mainstream than it’s ever been. I want to continue to help and be a beacon for the rise and the growth. To know me, is to know that when I am on the court, I give a 110% of my love and passion to the game whether I am dealing with boys, girls, men, women, even parents!
I have been playing basketball since I was in 3rd grade. My passion from basketball stems from me watching my two favorite players Kobe & Rondo in the NBA finals. I have had an obsession for basketball since a young age and now that has transformed into an obsession for helping young men & women grow their game, also their hearts & minds. I still play and compete at the highest level because it is therapy and I have a great respect for the game. I love great competition and being challenged because it molds me into not only a better player, but a better teammate and human being. I am humbled to have the honor to coach and mentor kids because the game has given me much to me and I will return that favor. Building leaders of this generation and serving the communities is my mission. Basketball is a game of life so let’s go!
My name is Jose Bey, I am 26 years old and my birthday is on December 24th. I played high school basketball for Charlestown High School as well as East Boston High School. I played 2 years at MassBay Community College, 1st year undefeated at home, making it to the Semifinals. After my 2 years I graduated with my associates degree in social studies. I am a firm believer in working hard and never giving up on yourself, the goal and or dream. All things can be achieved through hard work, consistency, and the want for whatever it is. My other interests other than playing, watching and or studying the game of basketball is watching anime as well as creating my own anime, drawing and creating clothing, reading, playing video games, meditating, traveling, helping others, being with family and relaxing. My aspirations and dreams are to successfully play professional and be able to give back my knowledge to the next generation at PTW.
